What videos should every climber have in their collection?

I currently have Front Range Freaks and Eastern Tide.

Just wondering what other videos everyone must see/have?

Pilgrimage, Free heuco, Masters of stone (all of them), and hard grit. Them and as you say Eastern Tide are my Favorites.

Behind the Green Door and Animal House are pretty much must sees as well.

Mike

Scream of Stone, cowritten by Reinhold Messner, and filmed in Patagonia isn't too bad either.

In vol. 3 Ron Kaulk lost me when he started talking about how if you watch the eagles and listen to the wind you will make it up your climbs. That guy is WAY out there!

try checking out totalvid.com. They have a dozen or so climbing vids for download or purchase. They are like $3.00 to download the vid(300MB ish) and watch it for a week before the licence expires. Not a bad deal. Or you can buy the DVD and while you wait for it the mail, you can download it forever, for free.

No i dont work for this site. They also have tons of surf and mountain bike vids as well.

hope you like it

We have most of those vids too. But you guys are all way out in left field...

the Ultimate climbing movie is definately the Eiger Sanction... featuring Clint Eastwood.
The phrase "working mother" is redundant. ~Jane Sellman

I said Cliff hanger. Why u ask?
1. Realistic action. You know harnesses always break.
2. Sly doing the cool campus.
3. All the women are hot and helpless (like God intended them to be J/K:) (that was a joke and not a very good one I know)
4. That cool bolt gun that we all thought existed when we started climbing.

This movie was the s.h.i.t. yo...

plus that realistic piton stabbin' fight scene and the bolt gun trough the ice trick... that would be a bomber anchor yo. lets see i've got a bolted corpse and a piton in a decomposing liver now to sling the other corpse's leg and we're good to go. On belay?

Vertical Limit. After all, Chris Odonnel has shown us that leaping 20 meters in crampons and being able to bury your axes without poping your shoulders (All done at altitude mind you) can be done even if you haven't climbed for years.
Oh yeah, and that Mountain climbing is way cooler with explosions. Kick kick, swing, pull, kick, swing, pull, screw, clip, BOOOM!!!

What's the one where the 2 doods are climbing some big rock in Cali, while training for K2, and the one dood takes a whipper and then climbs up and compliments the other dood with...

Nice belay!

...that line still makes me giggle.

I haven't seen the movie K2 since I've become a climber but I recall it being quite good. I might think differently I'm sure if I saw it again tomorrow. hehe

I love the rock climbing scene because if I remember correctly they climb to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". A good choice of music
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

It's really not that bad- kinda alright actually... except for the afternoon special plot line that it follows. Some not bad climbing scenes.

Keep your eyes open for scream of stone... way better.
