X-Mas ice in The Valley

Postby szymiec » Wed Dec 14, 2005 6:35 pm

Hey All,

I am goinig to be in Wolfville from the 23rd to New Years.

Anyone from the Valley feel like going for an ice climb / recon mission to the Bay between holiday gorging sessions?

The Valley; The Bay. I feel so local!

hey man you can come with me to Morden, check out the link for some pics of last years ice. I was out there this week and there is already a lot of nice ice forming.

all of the pics on that page (except for the 1st one) are from Morden on the Bay.

I am going to keep my on the ice on a weekly basis and possibly do some climbing over there over the holidays if the ice is good enough. Do you have gear?

Anyways, drop me a line here or give me a call.

Good effort on the weekly recon Steve.

Any chance you could bring a camera with you to keep us all in the loop?

Halls Harbour ice is about 1-1.5km down the beach from the fisherman stuff. Turn right at the fishermen stuff. Watch that you don't get burned by the incomming tides.

We yooses are excited to have you yooses gettin yer pics posted- ya'll yooses are the locals therefore the yooses in the know. Get those cameras rollin!

well sorry but I must disappoint those awaiting pics... the roads were impassable. We would have been able to cross the couple of kms of ice covered roads had there been salt or sand but its probably the last priority in the area. I think they should be clear by tomorrow though.
