Confusion on climbing at Welsford...

Postby Pierre » Mon Oct 31, 2005 9:43 am

General Public:

The general public must procure a day pass to enter any “Base” property, including the Cochrane Lane cliffs area for climbing purposes. This may be done in person, at Camp Petersville on the Enniskillen Road (located 10min. before Welsford coming from Fredericton towards Saint John). For more information call CFB Gagetown at 1-506-422-2000.

I did this.

I also stressed to them that I was not member of UNB rock climbing club. ( Maybe I should join just to avoid the confusion )

Once I was at Camp Petersville the commissionaire tells me to call Range Patrol ( 422-2000 ext (3121) ). So I called Range Patrol and all they asked me if I been there before and if I knew what I was doing. They also took down my name and the names of the people in my group. They also told me to call them once I've left the area.

Seems like the same process as the UNB Rock and Ice members.

bonus

sounds like you will be able to just call in the same as everyone else. I would just carry on and do what they want.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
