Vasque Ice 9000's

Postby mike » Wed Sep 21, 2005 12:24 pm

The doods at atlantic offshore have a couple peirs of boots that they're trying to get rid of- size 9 and 8 I think- not sure about the sizes though. They got em for cheap- around $375. Super good boots for ice and mountains.

Mike

Atlantic offshore you say? They are a Redwing dealer and Redwing is the North American Vasque distributor.

I'll just put in a good word for these boots, as I have a pair. They are a nice stable platform for ice climbing and still comfy enough for longer mountaineering routes and approaches. They are insulated, so they're pretty warm. I suffer from terrible cold feet, so these are my three season boots and for mild ice climbing days. If it's below -12C or so, I switch to my doubles, but I know guys that climb right to -25C with them.

It's such wonderful pompous marketing crap. Speaking of marketing, the boot is marketed as a lighter more flexible boot, something you would use on alpine climbs when you're going fast and light.
