haha, just kidding, I'm just posting the results of my recent exploring expedition. It's about time I found some rock in Dartmouth; you Halifax climbers can't have all the fun:

I am moving to the Dark Side, so I am suddenly interested. Where on Waverley Road? It is a long road, and I do not know where your house is. Give some other landmarks. What lake is it near. If I was driving there, where would I park. How far from the road? This looks to be worth investigating.

There's alot of slate around there. What kind of rock is that? Have you pulled down on any flakes?

It seems solid. I have found a slate boulder as well, but this stuff is solid. It's by lake charles, so it's not too far out.

There is also some rock high up, at about the Irving where Rocky Lake Rd meets the Waverly Road. There is a lot of boulders being cleared with development in that area.

These boulders are within walking distance for me aswell, I'd really like some directions. We have afew climbers that live right near them apparently.

Can we organize a meeting maybe this weekend. I can't climb because I have a wood splinter stuck under the nail of my index finger. Its quite uncomfortable. But I'd like to see them, and I'm sure tyler would come and climb.

adam i had the same thing about 2 weeks ago it really sucks
tweezers work well if u can get it or mabe get someone else to try it will hurt a lot but will heal a lot faster

I believe that sliding slivers of wood under a person’s nails was a popular torture technique used by the natives around the time the white men arrived. According to Jesuit accounts, it can be extremely painful. Could be worse though. If that did not get satisfactory results, they sometimes removed the nails.

It may be granite, but if not it's massive metamorphosed sandstone.... paticularily that of the goldenville formation from the meguma group. But if it's granite it's South Mountain Batholith so you're looking at 250ma or so old granite. It's definetly not slate.
