Ice School 2013 Next Weekend (Feb. 9 & 10)

Hey Climbers,
Next weekend is our annual Ice School weekend. We plan on going to Hampton Marsh on Saturday and Waterfall Wall Sunday. This is dependent on ice conditions of course. Has anyone been to these two areas since last week's spring-like conditions?
Anyways, if you plan on going out next weekend, keep in mind that we will be a large group of top-ropers in a relatively small area. For this reason, you may want to opt for another place to climb. If you must absolutely come climb at the same spot, we will try to move ropes over to accommodate everyone.

If we decide to go elsewhere because of bad ice conditions, I will let everyone know here on CEC.
Our Back-up plan is likely Parlee Brook like last year.
At least Parlee has many different areas and is much bigger so 'cohabitation' between groups is much more doable.

Waterfall Wall was thin on Sunday. Everything was dripping so it might form by the weekend however the conditions on Sunday were not suitable for a school group.

Thanks for the report Steve. I'm quite happy this week's forecast is cold. I'm hoping it will form back by the weekend and will make the call Friday.

So it looks like we're heading to Eagle Rock on Sunday. I have postponed tomorrow's Ice School clinic for obvious reasons.
Next Saturday we are tentatively going to Mount Misery. I know it's Icefest the same day and I'm sorry I had to do it the same day. Damn Winter!

Stop in at my place after Mt Misery and we can fill out the ranks for ice fest in the evening. Lots of room and the new climbers might enjoy some of the pics.
