Interested in taking on serious climbing, where do I start?

Postby sam » Thu Nov 17, 2011 3:24 am

Hey there, I'm a 20 year old looking for any advice on where & how to get started climbing in New Brunswick (specifically Moncton and Fredericton), and wondering if anyone has any tips?

Are there any courses / lessons available? Perhaps at "RBloc" (which as I understand it is the only place to climb in Moncton? feel free to correct me).

I haven't done any real rock climbing, only on a fake wall at a summer camp here and there, but I've always wanted to get into serious climbing. The only reason I didn't was because I didn't expect there to be a big community of climbers in our small province of New Brunswick, but then I stumbled across this forum and figured it'd be a good place to get started.

Any tips on how to get into it would be appreciated, and if there are no courses anywhere, are any of you willing to give private lessons?
Great climbing links:

If I'm posting here, I'm probably at work.
