LES DALLES DE ST-ANSELME

Postby STeveA » Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:31 pm

After an interesting approach, Kris and I were at this cliff on Saturday. It rained most of the day, however we climbed almost all of the routes and had a great time. This cliff is well worth a visit, and the cleaning and route setting is great. I highly recommend a visit, unless you are looking for overhanging 5.12s, and I will be back on a dry day for even more fun.

As an aside, I found some large (20'+) boulders that might be good for pad people. They are left of the East face of Mt Douglas. I can provide better directions if anyone is interested.

What is amazing is that most of the climbs still had friction. The only area that we could not get up was the upper left wall. There is a kind of green mold that offered no friction on that one area. I am looking forward to being able to relax and trust the holds when the cliff is dry!

These slabs are a great addition to NB climbing. Nice work les gars et fille!

I can't think of another area that offers pure slab climbing like this. Turtle Mountain maybe?
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
