Ziggy Piggy

Postby Fred » Mon Oct 25, 2010 7:53 am

A big thank you to whoever cleaned Ziggy Piggy. I got on this route for the first time yesterday after noticing someone had invested alot of time cleaning it. What a fabulous line!! I only TR'd it for now but I'll be back for a proper spanking ground-up. I found it to be quite difficult for the grade.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

One of the nicest cracks in Welsford for sure. Unlike most other routes, this one will test you the whole way instead of a one move wonder crux.

You aren't allowed to climb the route unless you have seen the movie!
You are, therefore I am. That is the question....

Yeah, the route is a classic sandbagged butt-whipper!

That seems like a very strange movie.

Must be the only sandbag route at Cochrane Lane.

The movie is "Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Adventure", and there are several climbs on the cliff with names from the movie.

LOL

I just checked out the link now because I was at work the other day when I read PJ's post.

I've seen Bill and Ted's a few times so I guess that gives me right of passage.

I love this cl;imb and I'm delighted to know it's receiving tlc from Cory H. (nice community servive guy). If only it kept going.. ultimately thats what we truly miss in NB: namely continuity. Oh well. At least we have what we have which is pretty damn incredible!

I don't find we lack community. I actually perceive it to be quite strong. What's missing here?

on the route names... dynamic duo is obvious right?

I think Tom was saying that he was wishing the climb went on longer and thats what we miss in NB, longer climbs. I don't think anybody can dispute that our community is pretty strong :)

So climbed this route yesterday. This route is amazing but is not always available as it's wet most of the Spring and Fall. In the summer it's dry but too damn sunny to climb....unless you climb it after 18:00. So for those of you that want to climb it, now is the time to do it until it gets wet again but make sure to wait until the climb is in the shade after 18:00.

The new bolted anchor is nice too.
