Hunting season in NS Oct 1- Jan 1

From October 1st until January 1st is hunting season in Nova Scotia. When you go into the woods hiking, bouldering or climbing, WEAR ORANGE and lots of it.

As well all know, humans with backpacks and bouldering pads are indistinguishable from deer, especially when viewed through the scope of a rifle by a drunken gunman. If you don’t deck yourself out in orange, you will almost certainly find yourself shot dead and tied to the hood of a rusty pickup truck.

Don't wear white either, it can be mistaken as a 'white tailed' deers behind. Like Dirty Harry says 'Shoot first ask questions later'....

This always reminds me of the time Zig and I were hiking out of Grover at dusk one day. We were walking through some bushes and around a corner and all of a sudden I'm staring down a double barreled shot gun and the guy says to me 'gosh I thought you were a deer'. Bouldering pads scraping through brush sound a lot like animals moving through brush so watch out!
