Drop-in Camping

Hoping to solicit suggestions for drop-in camping spots; we are comfortable with either official campgrounds or great sites found by trial-and-error you'd be willing to share directions to. Two of us, planning to drop in to Columbus Wall and First / Main Face for a few days mid-October, so tips for preferably private, out-of-the-way places, within a reasonable drive would be appreciated. If they also happen to have some sort of scenery, great bakery or hidden gem of a pub nearby to recommend them, all the better!
