New Route - Space Cadet

This route has likely been climbed before but there is no official record and the route was never cleaned. I gave it a good cleaning, removed some blocks, and Chris and Marcelle climbed it. This is a great climb now that it's clean and is a good addition to the cave area.

This climb is found approximately 20ft left of the opening to Golum's Cave. Start on top of a large block to step onto the slab above the large overhang close to the ground. Trend slightly right paralleling "Pursuit of Happiness". Follow the slab up the clean streak to eventually meet up with "Reindeer Land" just below the "roadrunner block".

Definitely PG, with the first piece of gear fairly high, but worth getting on.

Steve A. and I climbed this on 1 Oct 1997, the day after Princess Diana died. I named it "Bye Di" but admit the name sucks, I like Space Cadet better. But I lead through the first overhang and graded it 5.10c.

Joe: are you refering to Pursuit of Happiness? You'll have to check out the clean streak next time you're out to see if it's the same route.
