Bouldering Report

Postby seanT » Wed Jan 13, 2010 10:11 pm

For those of you who only like your ice in a glass with some vodka, clamato, celery and tobasco here is a report on the state of the BOULDERS! Jess and myself hit up Skull Rock on Tues and everything was covered in snow....pretty much everytop out was impossible the faces were clear however so it was still possible to climb. The rock was super sticky perfect sending temps. On a side note I am going to need approx 50 bolts and hangers as we found or perhaps rediscovered a untapped area for cragging. 10 min approach from car. Suhweeetttt!!!!!
Sean out!

50 bolts eh?
So, where is this craglet of which you speak?
Will you be needing a lot of concrete to fill in the cracks...
before beginning your benevolent bolting bonanza?

Hit some of the traditional Halifax spots and didn't encounter snowy topouts. LOC was pretty nice today, and Prospect/Chebucto never really got any snow that stuck around for very long.

Hey Scoot, are you interested in helping?
Nothing more fun than scrubbing routes for others to climb :)
I might try to find some free time this weekend to get out and get some work done.

its supposed to be nice tomorrow still, but with all the snow today I imagine things will be pretty sloppy.
you think it will be dry enough to scrub stuff down, or not worth it?

Put those brushes away boys, and get out your man tools. Tis the season for ice sans condiments.

I'm pretty sure there will be ice on Sunday. If you want to try it all you really need are good stiff-soled boots, a helmet, and warm clothes. High tide is at noon on the weekend, so climbing will likely be inland. Let me know if you want to come.

Scooter, you better be using your own rope. Attention climbers with Scooter, don't trust the orange rope he has! Its almost as old as the Cassinator!
