New route-Pyramid wall

This route climbs the rights side of the pyramid. Begin 10 feet right of Sarcophagus on big flakes. Head towards a small finger crack leading you to a series of cracks. The end is on an awesome layback. Finish at tree with cordelette.


The easy starts doesnt protect well but the top does. She's all clean so get on it before snow arrives

This sounds like a route that Fred did years ago? 'Y-knot' I think it was called? I don't have the guide in front of me so I can't remember for sure.... (I'm actually not being sarcastic here like some in the other Threads.

Seems to me it was Fred and Mike Maddock maybe? starts just right of Sarcophagas... This is probably 8 or 9 years ago. it was for sure in Freds first guidebook but not sure of the new one?

No it's not in the new one...I don't see why not?

Anyways, the route is clean now!

I just checked, (home on a quick break) it was not in the old one either, so it must have just been documented in the sign in books but not in the guidebook. Perhaps Fred felt it wasn't worth going in the guidebook? We'll have to ask him!

The route was called Y-Knot. I didn't document it because everyone jumped on me that it had been done already. Yet there was no record of it.

Dad and I also climbed this one last year. Its certainly a fun route, worth running up if your at pyramid. Probably even better now that its clean

I figured it had been climbed before since it's right on the pyramid in a popular spot. I just wanted to take advantage of the lack of documentation on the route . Anyways, I think it should be documented under Y-Knot and just put FA and FFA as unknown... my 02c, you decide Fred, you're the one taking care of the ''new routes of NB'' (or older resuscitated routes heheh).
