Who was the idiot that etched this message into the footpath crossing the farmer's field today? :(

I guess they were an idiot, because it is actually

X= death for a falling leader

If that is your level of maturity, whoever you are, then climbing probably isn't your safest activity of choice.

Since it's clear that whoever wrote this is a climber it stands to reason that they (or their friends) will probably see this thread. Just remember that we all enjoy unfettered access across the farmer's field. This field is private property and thus we must all remember to leave it as we found it. Graffiti is simply unacceptable. I'm having trouble visualizing this... Did someone write this in the sand with a stick?? Or did they damage the grass to write this?
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Not that it really matters... but it was scrawled into the path with a stick. It was large enough for myself, Anders, Tom, and anyone else walking past to clearly read it. The point is that we should all expect climbers to leave no trace... particularly on private property with delicate access.

Hard to imagine what message they were trying to portray, however keep in mind that most of the field that we cross is actually Gagetown property and not the farmer's. It doesn't not hurt to behave properly, but lets not give someone rights they don't have.

it's really irrelevant who 'owns' the property - -

Leaving NO Trace should pertain to all property...leave the forest as you find it for others to enjoy!

If it looks like a farmer's field and smells like a farmer's field...
