Postby theriault » Thu Jul 30, 2009 7:19 pm

Anyone ever rock climbed in Grand Manan? Good rock? Going there this weekend, should I bring the rack?

Cheers

I only bouldered there - not sure if there are any routes or not. I don't think many of the islanders climb. Shame, because the rock quality and quantity is endless.

what part of the island are you referring to for good lines? I'd been led to believe that there was stellar Ice Routes, but the rock wasn't good for rock climbing?!??! dang - and all this time I've been missing out? - looking forward to hearing more!

We were on the east side of the island, one area was close to Swallow Tail. Not sure of the name of the other area - Sheep something.? Here is a pic if anyone recognizes the area.
