Here is a good instance when I use the sliding X. Assume the blue lines are sliding X and red is knoted... bomber...

And you call me uber safe Fred??? :) I placed a trad anchor on Sunday with only 3 (gasp) pieces, no lockers except my tie in and at the end of a 80 foot pitch with 2 pieces (no lockers :shock: ). :)

My original purpose for commenting on Cara's post was that if you are giving advice it would be better serving to provide the safest advice or a couple of options with perhaps pros/cons and let the person decide or alter as they see fit. Been seeing some pretty sketchy stuff lately and you never know what people get out of things they read online. Remember Fred they may not have your judgement and experience to recognize what is/isn't adequately safe for any given circumstances.
