who's headed to Parlee this Saturday?

I'm headed to Parlee Brook this saturday, and am hoping not to freeze my butt off. Anyone else headed my way?

you may wanna rethink that plan. we were in last sat and it was unpleasantly cold at best. and it is forecast to be much colder this sat than last sat was. i'd say it should be unbearable this weekend. saint john's high last sat was -7 or 8 i think and it was -15 in parlee.

I'll talk to my "associates" about alternatives. I know it's slated to be -20 there on saturday, and parlee brook proper is always colder than sussex temp ratings...

How windy does it get there?

A good part of our climbing so far this winter has been in sub -20 conditions, including several bivies. Dress warm and bring extra clothes and emergency supplies and you'll be okay. The ice will be extra brittle so leading is a bit harder.

A stove to make hot drinks halfway through the day is really nice. Just make sure your stove will work in extreme cold. White gas is best, but even then we did have a couple problems like leaky seals and a frozen pump cup.

Given that it's a george, I suspect it blocks a lot of wind, unless it enters from the open end. (north or east)

Yeah Parlee's not windy or cold at all. Have fun boys.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
