They might slip some, but the crampons should keep the falling climber firmly attached to the pad.

Could be entirely a coincidence but I am fighting off a major virus attack after viewing the flickr.com photos. Nice photos, by the way. Maybe I shouldn't also have open, http://www.XXXBigLittlePeopleAmputees.com? Like I said, could be a coincidence.

Not sure what went on in that last post.... did said viral infection have a detrimental effect on you neural activity? I’ve never needed to ponder your posts in the past Peter- I hope you’re left parietoccipital cortex pulls out of this one intact... although one never knows in situations like this.

Back to the Dirty RAT... the ice was more resilient to the warm temps and unwelcome rain than I would have imagined. There was a fair bit of deterioration on the inside of the tower (south face), and almost none on the North face. Temperatures, as we all were made well aware of this morning, plummeted. The ice as of 5pm tonight was fuller than when it was first climbed on Tuesday evening. There are a few different features forming, including a bit of a bulge at the top of climbers right. the ice was filling up nicely at ground level inside the tower and I expect that tomorrow morning will be the right time to redirect all the water to the climbing face.
With temperatures like this, all the ice in NS is going to be getting thick. I'll be at Dirty RAT on Saturday with a big shiite eating grin and a pair of hot dog flippers in my gloved hands.... anyone interested in meeting at Steve-o-reno's at 8am on Sunday for a road trip?

Morning ice is harder than morning wood but not as hard as morning rock.

I will, however, opt for morning plastic at the rock court.

I have no tools or crampon's. But I'll be there with my value village ski boots and other safety constraints just after 1pm.
