Cape Clear info?

I am going to be in Cape Breton Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to check this place out. Can anyone get me directions?

I believe Cape Clear is included in Sean Cassidy's Nova Scotia Rock guidebook available at MEC in Halifax. Also, see sticky thread in this forum with some trip reports with new routes.

I was up there last weekend but it rained. I can send you some pictures if you like. It's about 4-5 hours from Hali. I recommend taking the Highland highway road that is described in the guide book, the approach from fielding road is fairly rough until you merge onto the highland road anyway...unless you have a truck then who cares. The directions for the highland highway in the book are a little off, it's more like 5 km's after taking the highway 7 exit. The road is at the top of highland mtn, there is a shack there and a wooden gate looking thing. Fred's old post about missing a turn at 24 km's or something is important, it's easy to blow by especially in the dark. there is a sign at this turn saying Cape Clear.

Thanks for the post. Got the guide book, but did not have the time to go. Oh well, I will be there eventually.
