Trad Climbing This Weekend

Postby peter » Wed Apr 30, 2008 11:03 am

Looks like two great days to get out. Who is heading out which day(s) this weekend?

I haven't been to Main Face yet this year, if there is interest ...

you will have to walk into Columbus, the road has huge boulders blocking the entry where the gate is.

Will anyone be climbing in the Halifax/Dartmouth area this weekend. I am new to town and am looking for some occasional climbing partners. I havent been climbing in a while but I can lead and have a fairly full rack!

There will be a crew at Sorrow's End on Saturday. Notalacerta, you can come out with us if you'd like. Do you have a ride or do you need a drive?

Back to me I guess.

I was at Sorrow's recently, so I would rather go to the Musquodoboit.

I am okay with Columbus, if there is a crew going. Otherwise, I will head to Main Face.

Either or both days are possible for me. How about others? I think Thom is a maybe/likely for Sunday.

We can sort it out at Henry House tonight, right after we reach unanimity on the Polly's Cove massacre. :D

Notalacerta

We're going to headout around 10-10:30am. Is the Canadian Tire off of Quinpool a good meeting spot for you? Also, we're headed out Sunday now, still good?

Then you are very close. You want Main Street, Dartmouth and Forest Hills Parkway/Hwy 107.

Get on the 111 Hwy (half-circle highway around Dartmouth) heading toward the Eastern Shore. Immediately take the middle lane off again, up to Main Street, heading east.

This is Main Street. Go through some stop lights, past stores, fast food, strip joints, etc., toward Highway 7 out of town east.

Go past the Nova Scotia Community College/car dealership on the same street. The next big intersection is all gas stations/Tim Horton's/Sobey's.

You want the Tim Horton's on the left (gas station, small strip mall facing east with Subway, Tim Horton's).

If you get lost, try my cellular, 456-4324.

More or less: I am picking up Jamie in Halifax around 9:30, and Thom in Dartmouth around 10:00. Do you want to meet us somewhere, like my place or Thom's? Or we could stop at the Main/Forrest Hills Tim Horton's around 10:15, on our way out?

I am thinking Main Face, as we are all looking for some moderate trad leads.

I am home tonight if anyone needs to confirm plans.
