We have a pretty good wall in the basement, but it lacks the height. How long you stuck in CB? Outdoor walls are great till the rain, snow and cold hit.

-better ability to span distance and bear weight per equal thicknesses.
- OSB also shows no difference at all in nail holding power to plywood.
- OSB has been proven to actually repel water better than plywood.

and it's way cheaper!

I've thought about using OSB to build a wall, but I've heard the T-nuts are more likely to come out.

There is likely a huge amount of misinformation out there seeing how terms that aren't supposed to be interchangeable often get used interchangeably.



That's a pretty sweet wall non the less. And if it is temporary it should be just fine.

Collin and I used OSB on our wall in his parent's basement. Hardly a "high-traffic" wall, but we haven't had any problems with t-nuts coming out, or anything like that. And I can't remember the exact numbers, but I think Collin said it cost about 1/3 of the price of plywood...

exactly! 1/3 of the price for OSB plywood (read 16$ for a 4x8 sheet versus 50 for regular plywood) for a sick temp wall for after work sessions. Plus we have the back of the wall totally covered with a tarp so it won't get wet. T-nuts are t-nuts, you will always run into trouble. UNB now uses (as is RC) t-nuts with 3 screws instead of the MEC sold prong t-nuts. That would be another option for home wall builders.
The wall is hosted in a top-secret location in NS...

hey Ben, it took us 2 evenings. but it is doable in a long day, start to finish. 300$! big and you could change the angle! warning though, this wall is heavy, we needed 6 guys to push it up in place and the help of a ATV to slide it into place!

Dont get me wrong i love the wall, just thought as its outside in CB it might get a little wet.

OSB dosnt do to well with the moisture. If exposed to significant amounts of water or moisture (ie in CB), the edges expand especially if they are cut edges. When plywood gets wet, it expands evenly throughout the panel, dries more quickly and shrinks down to its original size more rapidly than OSB.
