Ice Interloper Alert

A couple of Nova Scotia climbers are coming down this weekend to the Rothesay area, for a little R&R on ice. We are staying in Quispamsis on Friday and Saturday nights, and likely heading out to the new Gondola Point Ferry area and/or Minister's Face, probably both, on Saturday and Sunday. A warm room with a bar fridge and a flat screen TV are the full extent of our evening plans. Will anyone be around and climbing on these days? Are there better suggestions for climbing destinations (presumably with an easy approach, given the snow coming tomorrow)? You climbing at St. Martins on saturday? Is that further than parlee Brook from route 2 junction? Would like to join a group on saturday if it's possible, and not too far a drive from PEI.

I'm guessing it would be about 1 hour past Parlee.

I'm not sure what my plans are on the weekend. Might have a date with my work again.

did you get out to St-Martins? We were out to Super Bowl area today and it was terrible. We walked in then walked right back out. The stuff at the lighthouse looked much better in the distance. Super Bowl et al. are South facing and I think they got hit hard.

We ended up staying closer to where our accommodation was (Quispamsis). We climbed at Minister's Face Saturday, and Mt. Misery Sunday. Regarding the latter location, we walked across the river from Meehan's Cove Park, which seemed no further than the Rothesay to Minister's walk. We left as the snow started yesterday, and booted it back to Halifax. Pleasant climbing. P.

phew... glad you didn't follow my brief recommendation for St-Martins as there was little if any ice to be had.
