Hey Max:

How is the ice in Dorchester? Are some of the climbs affected by the tides?

Tides aren't very high this week you can walk around in the morning and High tide is at around 3 so you'll be able to walk back easly at 4-4:30. I'm not going to be around because I'm going to the Chic Chocs so hopefully you can find the area easily.

Does anyone know if Dorchester Cape, Lower Rockport or Peck's Point are accessible at high tide?
Was planning to head there on Saturday ... however, low tide is at 7:40am.
Any info would be great!

All depends on the height of the tide. Pecks Point climbs barely get touched be the water but need the tide going out to get to them. Dorchester has the longest and harder climbs of all the areas and it can be a bit tricky to get there if the tide is high but I have done it quite a few times staying close to the cliffs. And Lower Rockport is great and only a few climbs have been done because I come across the place late in the season last year and am in New Zealand right now, it is about an hour hike and there is one tricky spot when the tide is high. all climbs if approached from the beach need to be led. Hope you have fun, I'm really missing the ice but am getting some great rock in. Lower rockport is north facing the others get sun in the afternoon.
