Monkey Business - Greenlaw

Postby jibs » Wed Sep 26, 2007 9:00 pm

Just for the record - I lead Monkey Business at Greenlaw today - including the left off-width at top - standard rack, although a little bit of creative protection for top. (G/PG)

Curious why no one had lead it before... surely the dirt, abundant shrubery and off-width crack haven't deterred folks?! :) (Acutally, it's kind of a nice climb, parts of it anyway.)

yah - I'm sure someone (including you) has lead the right-hand side (where I noticed the piton years ago), but I'm getting the impression that no-one had lead the left-hand 'variation'... anyway - nice to promote the few trad routes at greenlaw - would be worth a little pruning and cleaning...

yah it sure looked like a nice line, if a little awkward maybe. i was just trying to get to the top in order to develop scurvy or i woulda tried it.

You can also scramble up the back side to set a top rope on Monkey Business and (now) Scurvy... there used to be a rope there to help, but it's still a pretty easy way to get up (5.0 / 5.1) ... (this is what I did years ago - '92 - when I first started climbing).
