Pokwok boulders

I assume people have explored the boulders in Pokwok. I was playing around there in my Jeep this weekend, and there are some nice looking boulders just off the road.

yeah, there are a lot back there. I believe Jeremy Howe has developed most of those that are any good. He'll probably have a lot more information. However, I believe most of them are on private land ( being the Pockwock watershed ).

Google maps seems to prefer Pokiok, but this is not what I am talking about.

That is the area. Lots of big boulders although they would need a bit of cleaning. Very sticky rock.

well, if that's the spot then talk to Jeremy. He worked in the woods out there for a few months, so knows all the boulders. But like i said, it's private property ( mostly ).

I found half a dozen boulders scattered about the woods that are worth climbing. some nice problems. then i found a cool bunch of boulders/small cliffs that i did not have time to climb. the problem is that the area has gates and is patrolled by choppers. I do have a key for the gate and am still allowed to go in there. i have some picts at home

ps i have found lots of good boulders all over the provience. i mapped them all and am planning a little road trip hitting as many as possible, yarmouth, granite village, cape breton, shelburne, bridgewater.... sandrine and i are also developing a small cliff past bow wall that has some nice easy climbs.

Jeremy,

Those boulder's I was telling you about on the highway outside of Barrington Passage. If your driving from yarmouth, as soon as you cross into Shelburn county, look for a green high road marker 52km. park you car just past it and start walking in. you should be able to see its only 20 yards in from the road. There is another with a cave cave like feature about a few seconds north, same distance in from the road.

Cb.
