Climbing this weekend and whenever

Postby Danno » Thu Sep 06, 2007 10:11 pm

I'm a n00b; apologies if this is the inappropriate venue for such a thread, but...

I want hit the crags this weekend and whenever is good until it gets icy. I'm waiting (and waiting and waiting) on Canada Post for my rack and ropes, but I'm happy to rent a car for whoever wants to show an Ontarian what's what in these parts.

My mistake: I meant that I am new to the forum. I am not at all new to climbing; I've been climbing for over a decade and am competent (if not hugely strong).

Dude! It's like the Spanish Inquisition!

I've mostly climbed sport this season. I can usually onsight moderate 5.11, but I hear NB grades out here are stiff and so I'm prepared to feel foolish. I can't do anything in a day harder than easy 5.12. Ergo, I'm not hugely strong. I haven't been doing much trad, but I've got a Gunks trip planned for October and should get used to being a little scared.

Beers to whoever shows me what's what.

You can start by going to the Radical Edge down town Fredericton and buy the new Climbing in NB guidebook. :)

lots to do around here. :) loads of great climbing to keep you busy.

Hey, I'm planning on heading out to Welsford tomorow afternoon with a couple of people, I'm not hugely strong either (i.e. not really strong period), but I'd be more then happy to show you around the areas that I know.

My usual partner just left for a month. I am not a strong climber (sport 5.11 in the very very top, and I am very happy climbing in the 5.8-5.9 range). I'd love to go out in St Andrews on Sunday, I have a car and sport gear. Let me know if you're interested.
