I was told that one of the trails on the Cabot Trail was know for large boulders , anyone know details about this?? cause if it is true , i want to bring my shoes and chalk........ any info anyone can share?

The best bouldering is at Loraine head near Louisburg. There are directions in Sean Cassidys guidebook, and i think in Zigs as well. It is awsome there and some great stuff for toproping as well, even 2 sport routes i bolted on my honey moon a few years ago. Definitly worth checking out.

I'm going to be I Beddeck / Big Bras d'Or this week and want to check out the rock in Black Brook ( 20km North of Ingonish). There is a small cliff with about 10 lines on it just off the highway. Also at black brook beach there is some low ball stuff that might just need a pad. What day are you going to be up there?

I`m going up thurdsay , through the weekend and leaven monday , the only thing is i`m going mostly to hike , cause my GF doesn`t climb but i was gonna bring a pad chalk and shoes just in case.

At Chimney corner beach, in Margaree Harbour (between Cheticamp and Inverness) I stumbled upon 1 boulder amongst many other smaller boulders that was climbable. One side of it was easy (v0-1?) and the other side was an overhanging (35 deg) and looked pretty hard, each having a bad landing. I would definitely recommend Chimney Corner just to go to the beach (nice spot) and bring your pad to have something to sit on for most of the day, but don’t go there just to climb.

PS Skyline trail is A1 awesome ! Saw 4 moose!
Annie and I were in Cape Breton this past weekend and we did the Skyline trail but we only seen 3 Moose on the trail... Beautiful spot, highly recommended!! We found some easy bouldering as well... (V0)
