that's great MEC is doing that...

but what we should be doing is paying a significant deposit on batteries of all types so that we get some 'reward' for returning them to an appropriate depot. we all know money makes the world go 'round...

... and if i ruled the world...

That's actually not a bad idea. I find my biggist problem is finding places to recycle stuff! They don't make it easy in a lot of cases, and truthfully I find it harder here in Ontario (or at least St. Catharines) than it was in Halifax.

I bring my batteries to work where they have battery recycling containers. If I didn't do this I don't know where I'd bring them (unless I save them for the few times I make it to MEC in a year).

I heard yesterday on the news that one community in the US is paying people for recycling similar to our bottle depot programs.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.
