Why climbing and rings don't mix.

This is why I have a tattooed wedding ring. Don't go to link if you are squeamish.

holey crap! This is the third message board that I've seen this pop up on.

Between climbing and work (where you can't wear rings in the plant) there are weeks where I rarely put my rings on (wedding ring and engineering ring). I like the tatoo idea, maybe someday we'll get matching tats, but I also really love our wedding bands.

YIKES! Holy GROSS

I tell people all the time to take their rings off at the climbing wall..... this picture sure backs that up!!!

Tattooed rings is such a great idea. Fred and I just put our rings onto a biner when we climb. I would never climb with one on. one reason is the picture above.. and the other is the damage to the ring!

Now that looks like a potential UNB R&I tshirt.

That was pretty sick. I've heard of someone having their finger taken right off while playing basketball when their ring got hung up in the net.

I keep my ring on a necklace when it isn't on my finger.

Same danger with dancing. I knew a guy who had his nipple torn off when he was performing a lift with a girl who was wearing rings, and the ring caught him on the chest. Hmmmm.... maybe a warning that can be applied to spotters in bouldering? HAHA

I can honestly say after seeing those graphic photos that I am SO VERY GLAD that I am not RINGED or PIERCED.

Shawn and Denise, your tattoo rings are awesome and probably the most appropriate thing for two climbers married and in love.

Climb on. Rings off!!

Thats just delicious. That photo should be cast into the fires of mount doom.

Seriously though, not wearing rings in one of basic rules of workplace safety.

After looking at everyones comments I decided not to look at the link.... I'm a wimp. Unfortunately for me, the picture is posted in one of the shop notice board here at work and.... well I'm not sure if it's the same finger picture but its disgusting!!!!

Sand, if it makes you feel any better I haven't clicked on the link yet either....even though I have seen it show up on three different message boards!!

I figure if its anywhere near as bad as that photo in 'One Move Too Many' then there's no real need for me to see it. I'm anti-ring wearing while doing stuff already, I don't need further persuasion.
