Last Chamonix Shots

Postby peter » Mon Aug 14, 2006 10:42 am

I managed a final nine days in Chamonix, before returning to Canada last week.

The weather sucked; that is, it was sunny, in the low to mid-30s, and most snow and ice routes were melted out.

In any case, a nice picture is still a nice picture. See:

So, when do CNS Ice Days start ?

Bouldering

The boulders kept falling on me, but I did manage a few V0s, as they went by. Maybe I will do better in Halifax.

NS Ice

Ya, sounds like the July ice in Chamonix was better than the January ice in Nova Scotia. Next year ... road trips.

Yeah, you got that about right Peter. Ice season was three days long last winter, and I don’t think those days were even consecutive. Our winters can’t all be like that though. We should be about due for a good one, shouldn’t we? We had a good ice season four years ago.

Ice Season

Or, Air Canada has a seat-sale on now: $500 return from Toronto or Montreal to Paris, $550 from Quebec City. Good until December 7. A sale like that next spring, and I am gone again ... Or again, Gaspe, Saguenay, White Mountains NH ... There is lots to do in winter if it sucks here again.

Panorama

Postby jhousser » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:46 pm

Hi Peter,

I hope you don't mind, but I noticed your panorama at the bottom of the page (cool photos by the way!) and thought I'd put it together for you. I do a lot of panoramic photography so it took me 5 minutes, and thought you might like the results:

Looks like an amazing trip, I hope to travel there sometime myself,
