Building a home wall...

Postby cptsmith » Fri Jul 28, 2006 8:03 pm

Well I'm new to the site and fairly new to the sport, but I've been long looking at building a small (25-30 foot) wall. Just wondering if anyone in Moncton or Charlottetown has one built that I could view. (I also didn't want my account to be deleted again!!) hah ;)
Thanks for any info.

And just for the record, is there ANY public walls in the Moncton or Charlottetown areas?

Thanks again.

a fellow by the name of Dan Richard has a home wall in Moncton. Hopefully he will see this and get back to you.

Home walls are pretty easy to build. Framing is same as typical stud walls but sheathing is 3/4" plywood. Drill a bunch of holls and pound in T-nuts. Voila.

I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Crystal Palace keeps advertising that they have a climbing wall.... (5 bucks gets you five minutes. )

Cent Park - have a woodie

Other than that I can't think any other places in the Moncton area.

Somebody needs to build a commerical gym in Moncton.

There will be a wall in moncton! It's comming.
If it doesn''t happen soon, we'll make something temp. And then, if we have enough interest, we can start a coop type of wall with a bunch of private owners.
For now, I'm expanding my garage wall very soon. Here is a pic of what we have now.
We usually meet once a week. Took a few months off lately, everyone too busy!

It can't come soon enough! I'm going to be grounded soon, my wife and I are having our first child shortly. So I'm anixously waiting for somethiing closer to home to pop up.

You can count me in on helping with a coop.

First of all... CONGRATS!!! kids are the best thing ever!!!

no time to be grounded though!!! The more you take them out and about and get them used to doing things, the less of a hassel it really is. Fred and I just spent 5 weeks on the road, with 80% of the time in a tent. It was a breeze with the little one and we wouldn't have done a thing different!

Get the babe and the mom out for hikes while you climb! let me know when/where and Fred and I could hook up with you to climb/hike etc. :)
