What type of beer do climbers drink? Also post what style of climbing you do, incase there is a correlation. I am no beer expert so I like to keep the categories simple.
Although I still enjoy a good pail, usually on a hot day with a lime in it, I prefer the reds, so Red gets my vote. Although, I am becoming more and more partial to the darker beers.
I climbed for years on top-rope, and then became a hard core boulderer, and now I am leaning more and more toward trad climbing. Not sure if there is a connection.

Gym climber to boulderer to rope climber of any type.
oddly enough, my beer preference has ran:
pails(to young to know....), to reds(a start in the right direction), to the darkside.

I like the Reds for sure. sometimes a wheat ale (picaroons makes a beauty one for the summer time)
I'm a trad and ice climber. but will dabble in Sport and bouldering if that is what is in front of me. But the preference is Trad for sure.

I see a corelation here because I know at least three other trad and ice climbers who love scotch.

Well, it looks like the boulderers have found this thread, as Pail is pulling into the lead.
I figured that there would be some lovers of other fine, well aged, beverages on this site, but I figured they would have a favourite beer too, and that is what I was interested in.
Yeah Andrew, I like Coca-Cola-Classic as well. I even picked it in a blind Pepsi taste test. Alternatively, I find that Dr. Pepper goes well with Chinese food.
