boots again...

Postby climberwannabe » Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:32 am

Hey, I am having trouble replying to my own posts... anyways... I normally wear a 9.5 or 10, are the sizes comparable in a mountaineering boot? I would definately be willing to buy a second hand pair as opposed to wearing a ski boot. Those things were put on earth to make my day miserable enough when skiing, I cant imagine climbing in them. Let me know more about them guys. You can always email me at peiman01@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Das Boot

Yes, the sizing is the same, but try them. Just make sure the heel isn't too loose, or the toes too tight. A loose heel your foot will ride up in or boot may drop, which can affect crampon placement, and tight toes are no fun, both for cold and driving the front of the foot repeatedly into the ice. Koflach's are a good brand, used by most rental/guiding outfits. Peter
