Question...
What are people's opinions about climbing on Greywacke?
Does it hold gear or explode under pressure?
Would someone have to be really desperate to climb on it (You know, like living near Antigonish...)?

Hey Mark,
Eagles Nest and Ship Rock are 2 climbing cliffs on Greywacke, which is a sandstone of sorts with decent texture. Pretty solid but there can be sketchy sections where it grades into a siltstone.
In different parts of the province the greywacke has experienced varying amounts of metamorphosis (pressure/cooking) turing it more into a quartzite - which is more solid.
Either way, I'd say it's worth climbing!
