Looking for climbing area recommendations around Halifax

Postby Pierre » Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:28 pm

I might be in Halifax thiis weekend coming up and was wondering what outdoor areas would be good for bouldering or rope climbing this time of year. Looking for an area that would be good for beginner to intermedate level climber.

The LOC in general would be some great bouldering, I don't know if you have access to one of the guidebooks or anything but if you were able to find area 51 it might be worth a trip, approach isn't that bad and lots of good problems. Some easy zero's and some 5 and 6, even harder stuff.

most areas are great right now. no snow, good temps and no bugs. You can take a look at my very uncompleted Google Earth guide for climbing in NS. You can download http://www.tracstarr.com/files/tracstarrNetworkLink.kmz into Google Earth to view what is there. I've got a lot of the areas located and some of the trails marked.
