MEC Sweet Spot Contest, My rant about that.

So i had a bit of time to kill and went on the MEC Sweet Spot Video contest site. I'm a bit confused about how the judges choose the finalists. Check out this film from the "Hiking and Camping" catagory.

It was a finalist in it's catagory and made it to the 2011 Finalist. Compare that to this film from the same catagory.

Which one do you think is better.

PS. I did not enter a film this year and don't know anyone who did but i'm always dissapointed in the selections made for the finalists. Just curiouse if i'm the only one that sees it that way.

What would your top picks be for eachs catagory?

The first video (Yeti Hikking) didn't even have a title slide or anything and was just a bunch of bad clips stitched together. Very amateur.

The second clip (trail running) was way more professional with quality camera work and editing + with an actual story line. This video was way better.
