Taking the trip down to Acadia this past weekend was well worth it. Matt and I went early Friday morning; was a little foggy, with the rock a bit damp but for the most part not a problem. Only on Chitlin's Corner - smearing was a little dicey. Wafer Step was a good warm up, and Recollections of Pacifica on the way back to Chitlin's. Saturday and Sunday turned out to be rewards for the effort and waiting out the weather - they were glorious. Gunklandia, Emigrant Crack, Old Town, Fingers on A Seascape, Connecticut Cracks, High Plains Drifter and Pressure Drop (the first time attempt at that route we hit Rusticator instead - 11b - which made for an interesting finish to the day; second time we went the intended way).
Awesome lunch stop for anybody going down this summer: Adelmann's Deli, 24 Main Street, 288-0455. Propieter's name is Tim. This is his last summer open, and he has a good menu: make your own wraps, ruebens, sandwiches, whatever you'd like. Go prepared with all faculties, sarcasm and wit fully intact- he was hilarious. Matt, post the photo if you'd like?
