Postby Jamie Simpson » Sat Jun 21, 2008 10:31 am

Hey folks -

A couple of us from Nova Scotia are heading down to North Conway next weekend -- Anyone interested in joining in? Might be able to give a ride... Planning to hit some nice long easy lines. Come on along.

Jamie,
Rosie and I are planning a trip. We'll be there Saturday morning. Where are you camping?

Probably the Saco River campground -- they have the good overflow camping area.

Dave and Laurie are thinking of heading down too - should be fun. We should try to get a camping spot close together.

Jamie,

Weather is looking questionable everyday in NH. I have 5 days off to climb and have had two trips in the rain so far this year. My mind can't take another. Right now we are a "no go" for Conway. My plan is to climb in Welsford or St A's on Friday and Saturday. If the weather is looking Ok we'll either go to Kamou or Bar Harbor on Saturday night or Sunday... we are off until Tuesday.

If the weather starts looking better for Conway we will be totally in. I just need 3 of the 5 days to look good and I'm going... as of now everyday has a 40% chance of rain.

Burley, you are such a wuss. just go and climb. sheesh. and if it rains... then you can drink and shop. and lets not forget about Ben and Jerry. my two favorite guys have a place on the main drag that you can fill your boots at. :P

Speak for yourself Chris... I'm no wuss.... lets just call it 'selective'. haha. And I've got a great excuse at the moment.

I'm glad Norfolk has my back :) Thanks buddy and nice work on Smoking Crack last evening. Peck gave it on Human Direct.

In my defense:

Friday 30% chance of precipitation Chance of T-storms
Saturday 50% chance of precipitation Chance of T-storms
Sunday 60% chance of precipitation Chance of T-storms
Monday 50% chance of precipitation

But maybe Tuesday will be a nice one ;)

I think I'll climb where the weather is looking better. Sitting in Kentucky dealing with more rain days than climbing days turned me off.

Fred and I spent 10 days one fall in the Gunks/Rumney. It rained on 8 of them. some days we got in mornings or afternoons, but for the most part we were soaked. It sucked.

Weather is looking like crap all over the planet!

So.... we are heading to Conway. When in doubt go to Conway... because you can utilize your sponsor... Visa.

Sounds like a perfect weekend to have a baby. no one wants to have babies when the weather is good for climbing. Now lets see if I can work on that.

have fun with your sponsor. If I recall from previous experience, Visa throws great parties with the cheap NH booze!
