Beth Rodden Redpoints Meltdown: 5.14c
From La Sportiva:
After four months of working it out, Beth Rodden has redpointed the first ascent of Meltdown (5.14c). Located in Yosemite National Park, California, Meltdown is the world's hardest traditional rock climb done by a woman.
Rodden has been hesitant to give Meltdown an exact grade. Others who have tried the route say it is 5.14c. Beth sent it in impeccable style, with all natural protection, and placing all of her gear on lead. The route is likely the hardest naturally protected rock climb ever sent by a female and one of only a handful of traditional 5.14c’s in the world.
