Thanksgiving seems to be a much bigger deal in the States than in Canada. Everything is closed and very few people have to go to work, many Americans get a four day weekend out of it.
In Canada Thanksgiving seems a bit like Columbus Day in the States. Government stuff is closed and some people have the day off, but a lot of people still work.
And Mitt, Columbus Day is the day we celebrate the pillaging. Thanksgiving is family time.
