News Flash (from skaha.org)

Braesyde Parking Lot update - Oct 12, 2006

The parking lot at Braesyde will be closed on Novemeber 1, 2006. No access to the Bluffs via Braesyde Farms property will be possible from November 1 onwards. This closure will be permanent. At this time, it is not clear what access arrangements will be in place by Spring 2007. However, efforts are underway to secure access to the Bluffs. Please watch this space for any news, most especially related to how you may be able to help.

They sold the farm. Literally, the family who owned the land which we crossed to get to the bluffss and where we parked our cars sold their farm and no aggrement has been made with the new owners.

It's a wonder they didn't let the climbers know they were selling and offer it up to them! Sheesh... I would have jumped on that!!! (i mean.. if I lived out that way...)

It was for sale and climbers said the same "we should...'' . I think its a fairly expensive piece of property. The okanagan is not cheap.

This sale was known for a few months, you know how climbers are, every one has an opinion on acces and the environment but when it comes time to do something about it, most people go out climbing instead of adressing these issues. Myself included
