Tents - 3p

Postby Stacey » Fri Feb 15, 2013 11:18 am

It's almost camping season...and I need a tent ... I'm trying to decide which to get.
Ideally, I'd like to get one that Megan, Emily & I could all 'fit' in...
but one that was compact enough that I could use it solo as well.

I love the Marmot Limelight tent:

and found there is the same tent in a 3p version:

anyone have opinions or suggestions for tents?
I'd like something light weight, but durable...and something that I could use for front country cragging as well as backpacking

Thanks

I slept in a friend's Limelight last summer and was inspired to buy one too, to replace the battered and leaky Moss I'd been using since high school. I ended up buying a Marmot Aura (I think that's what it's called), which is very similar but the poles are shaped/bent outward to make it more boxy and roomy inside. I've only used it a couple of times, in pretty mellow conditions on the coast, but it's been great so far, and cheap too, for a funky little poratble house.
