soft rope

Postby Diamox » Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:04 pm

So I've looked through the banter on old rope threads wihtout good answers.

Are Bluewater ropes soft? I'm using a Beal top gun 10.5 which is fairly supple. just wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to a nice soft rope to buy. Not looking for floss or twins or halfs. >10mm is fine

the softest rope I have ever seen is the Maxime Glider. Feels like silk. Literaly. It comes as 9.8 60m dry. It is a treat to climb on this rope. You'll know what I mean when you touch one.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Fred where did you get your Maxim rope? I notice that neither mec, rei or mountain magic carry the 9.9mm glider. REI has the 10.2 glider.

Scooter, thanks for the info.

I got it at Mountain Magic at the time. I'm not sure where you can buy it now. It was a great rope though. Unfortunately mine got shread over a serious edge.
