How much is it to climb at Ground Zero for a night? I'm in Halifax for the week but only have my shoes. How high is the lead climbing wall? Can you rent harnesses? or belay dummies for that matter.

Dalplex is close to my hotel but holly shmoley $17.50 to climb????? is that for real?????

Hey Fred

I was checkin' out the Ground Zero website earlier (http://www.groundzeroclimbinggym.com). I'm sure you've probably seen it but if not and IF it's still accurate.... $12.00 for a day pass, $2.00 for a harness.

WINTER HOURS
September – May
Monday 6-11pm
Tuesday-Friday 2-11pm
Saturday, Sunday 12-6pm

You could always call them to double check [(902) 468-8788].

Not sure on the height of the lead wall (or belay dummies).

I was hoping to make it down there this weekend (probably Friday) but I'm not sure if I'll be able to now since some school stuff's come up. If I do make it though, maybe I'll see ya down there.

hey fred, i have a bunch of free dal passes if you want to use some. It'll then only cost you 8 bones to climb. I live right there and am planning on a short session tonight. send me a PM if you wants a few.

i think GZ is now $14. if you wanna get on a rope definatly go there. if you wanna do an outdoor session in the evenings i'm done work by 3:30 and am 10 min from the LOC.

I know that this is an old post, but just FYI a day pass at GZ is $12. the price has increased only once (by $2) since we opened 8+ years ago. hope to see you in someday Fred. we could probably even find you a belayer (sorry, no dummies). :wink:

If I were to bring students there, what would it cost for say 10 students and two teachers? We're from PEI, so it would be a saturday or something.

Also can you PM me about insurance liability amounts you have etc?

Ok kate that sounds reasonable. I'll be in Halifax quite often for work so I'll try to get in and check the place out.

shannon, weekends are generally pretty busy, but you could book a private session for your group (2 hrs in the morning or evening when the gym is closed to the general public). best to email Sean at groundzeroclimbinggym@ns.sympatico.ca for the specifics.

Fred, give us a heads up as to when you might be in town. during the week, there are several nights when there is a pulldown posse at the gym. and they don't usually bite!

it will be around 7pm when we get there and we'll likely only be bouldering, but we'll bring our harnesses just in case.

Big thanks to the GZ crew.

Fred and I climbed there last night and it is a fantastic gym with a cool crowd. The holds are amazing and the routes were great!
