guy on quinpool does a pretty good job. One needs to provide him with the resole kit, which is available at MEC

A cobbler in Dartmouth Mall did a decent job (all things considered) on Maasy's la sportiva shoes. He used some vibram rubber he had lying around and just patched the toe rand, but it only cost Mark $5 a shoe!! I'm sure he would do it with stealth rubber if you brought that along too... At that price its worth a shot.

I just got mine resoled at the guy on Quinpool and he did a great job. However, I'd only advise doing it there if you are totally in love with your shoes since it'll be about $30 for the resole kit at MEC and between $20-$30 for the resole. So it's basically half price of a brand new pair of decent climbing shoes.
I loved my shoes so it was worth it for me.
There is also less of a breaking in period. The new soles were a bit slippery on the holds at the gym the first session, but outside on the granite and for each subsequent trip to the gym they have been dynamite.

I suggest bring a climbing mag with you and politely describe their use, as well as show a pair of newish shoes for him to know what your hoping for. Maasy said he was pretty perplexed by the weird shoes.

New or newly resoled shoes tend to be slippery at first. Rubbing them a bit on a piece of carpet, or even with fine grit sandpaper helps get rid of the slickness.
