Cool Maps!

Postby saF » Wed Apr 06, 2005 9:14 am

I was pointed to something on another forum that might be of interest toi everyone who goes climbing in the great outdoors. I had heard rumors that this was available but nobody was sure of where to find it, or maybe they were just greedy and unwilling to share!

This is what a few places in Nova Scotia look like!

Grover
Dover

Unfortunately not all locations are available at the same resolution. But this much is pretty cool. I was hoping to get LOC Polly's Cove, and Chebucto Head/Duncan's Cove.

I'll let someone from NB look up the climbing areas around there.

I tried to find WElsford but only found topographic maps not arial photos. Any ideas? Welsford is just north of Saint John NB.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

Oops I copied the wrong links in for Dover and Grover... Give me a few minutes to find the right ones again.

As for the topos, not sure. Maybe they don't have any satellite photos of that area. I'll see if I can find some.

Here is Dover
And Poilly's Cove/Holiday Wall/Joey Ramone
Part of LOC
Grover
Chebucto Head/Duncan's Cove

Can't seem to get to Pace's Lake in any detail....

Fred, I tried to look at the Saint John River valley and was not able to see anything either. Earlier today I was not able to see anything close up (relative term) in LOC, but was able to just now. Maybe try again later sometime. Hmm in the 10 minutes I was trying to find Paces Lake, I went back to look at Welsford and was able to see something. Not down to the same scale as the maps above, but something.
Welsford

Google does rule.

They have nothing for southern Vancouver Island where I live.
