First Face report

Postby granite_grrl » Sun May 27, 2007 12:58 pm

Nathan and I headed to First Face yesterday. A typical NS experiance with black flies coming to dine and backs getting sun burned. A lot of climbs were still seeping, making them a bit trickier than they should have been.

The climbing there is a lot different than a lot of the other cliffs around here (that I remember, as I've only been to Sorrows over the past few years). We missed the typical granite gear eating cracks, but it was fun to practice my finger jams. I got to lead Aniversry Waltzes, and that thing scared the crap out of me. Much of the gear I got was suspect and I did not like the fall consequences. But it was still good for me to try to get my lead head back after my accident (maybe a little too good!).

So good day, even though I don't understand how I got some of the bug bites where I have them today.
