Moose River - N.S. - Ice Climbing

Postby Peter » Tue Jan 18, 2005 12:57 pm

Who can give a no-bullshit description of how to access the fabled big ice in the Moose River area? I have never climbed up there, but have spent my fair share of time tramping around looking for ice in the area, with little success.

Is it Moose River East Branch or West Branch that forms? What is the best access route? I have topos for the whole shore and can follow any description you can offer.

Oh yes, and I would like to get up there this Friday, Jan. 21/05.

Thanks.

Peter

Can do, as a one-day event. What do you predict for the approach? I thought you were going away to pursue your other hobby, gambling?

Time constraints there Martha, sorry babe but it's not in the cards for me right now. I would love to come up there to climb, but i'd like to do it for a few days not just one long one. that way i can really enjoy it and not have to worry about a 5 hr drive home after climbing all day.
if you look like your passport photo, then you probably need the vacation
