There is going to be a new YOGA FOR CLIMBERS at the DARTMOUTH YOGA AND WELLNESS CENTRE on Ochterloney Street (Right next to Alderney Chiropractic by Sullivan's pond).
Starting in March it will take place Wednesday evening from 7:30 - 8:45.
As a climber and yoga teacher it is incredable how harmonious these two realms are. Yoga improves strength, flexibility, detoxification, breath capacity, ability to stay connected to the breath on hard climbes etc. In climbing, staying connected to the breath simply means that you can see the sollutions that are right in front of you.
Another significant benefit is the improved anaerobic capacity through the increasing of different enzymes. As pointed out in "FINGERS OF STEEL", the increaced ammounts of these various enzymes significantly improve the muscle's ability to recover at rest ...and as you know, this is a large part of climbing well.
Yoga can also teach one to be fully in the present moment, which is what "the zone" really is.
Anyway there will be one free class on Wednesday February 25th if you would like to try it. Please RSVP for this free class to my direct email > seanmdrohan@hotmail.com
